The series of works takes a look at the unstoppable intermixing of nature and culture and the artficial re-creation of both of them. The images of an idyllic world are reduced to a formula, the materials are mixed. They cover each other, interweaving also their properties into something that seems natural, although we can’t see beyond them. I am playing with a very obviously childish and cute esthetics in order to question our naivity in accepting that nature has become a consumable product itself that is well integrated in our economic beliefsystem – be it in natural resorts, organic products or the fact that food is part of the stock market.
With this work I have been selected finalist of the BKV Prize 2015. The collection was presented at the Gallery of the Bavarian Arts and Crafts Counsil in Munich September / October 2015 and will be shown as well at the IHM in Munich in February 2016.
